Press release

I want to make paintings that feel aesthetically & nostalgically like my favorite things in the world. It’s important to me to keep joys that are personal to me present in my work because there isn’t much of it to go around elsewhere. Making things that I enjoy is the only thing that gives me the impression that I still exist."

This is how young Chris Albo describes his inspiration and motivation when discussing his work and how he works. Born in Long Island, New York, 32 years ago, Albo graduated from the School of Visual Arts and remains an enthusiast of graphic design.

For his first ever exhibition in France, Albo is showing 17 new paintings that draw their identity from American suburban youth culture and are composed of various logos and designs reminiscent of stickers that would be applied to the back of a skateboard or a guitar. Albo's work is like a nostalgic dive into an era that is still fantasized about and that brings back many memories engraved in our minds.
