Long Story Short’s dual exhibition will bring together paintings by Dustin Emory and Yanjun Li. Emory explores the human response to confinement, whether it arises from physical spaces, personal experiences, or societal structures. His strict adherence to a monochromatic palette and his use of unconventional angles and surreal lighting echo the confines of digital and analog worlds. Li adapts color field techniques on her canvases, exploring the interplay of light, color, and texture, with layers of transparency and depth revealing the nuances of human experience and introspection. With abstract forms that mirror the fluidity of light on water, each piece evokes a boundless landscape for contemplation.
