Press release

Long Story Short is thrilled to announce Art (by) Dealers, a group exhibition of artwork made by the city’s prominent art dealers, organized by Kathy Huang and Will Leung.

In the art world, Summer is a time for large group shows and auctions for charitable causes. Often merged together, these events have become a kind of covenant, a time for artists and dealers to come together for a common cause. During a late night out, artists Anna Park, Mike Lee and gallerists Will Leung and Kathy Huang came up with a playful inversion of the time-honored tradition: a charitable auction of artwork made by the dealers themselves.

Art (by) Dealers is an exhibition of artwork made by some of the most prominent art dealers, made for a charitable auction for the Lower East Side Girls Club. All works are priced the same amount—$500, and the identity of the art dealer who made the work will be withheld until after the results of the auction. Art (by) Dealers lets the work speak for itself, while creating an event that dealers themselves have looked to with both enthusiasm and dread.
